new meets seamlessly with the best of the old.

Phoenix’s
history is reflected in its diversity of housing styles. Like many
other cities, the population migrated to the suburbs as the city
developed. But now, distance and lack of convenience has caused
a return to the city core and a renewed interest in its older homes.
At Homework Remodels,
we have always been most attracted to the unique nature of older
homes. The best part in working with these special homes is in working
with their dedicated homeowners. We are experts in kitchen
remodels, bathroom
remodels, and home additions. We are also knowledgable in all
aspects of universal
design, the art of making a home beautiful and accessible to
all ages. There is nothing as enjoyable as collaborating on a remodel
design with a person that loves their home and wants to customize
their space while preserving the true nature of the home.
Centering in the historic
neighborhoods of downtown Phoenix, we have recreated historic looking
kitchens, bathrooms, and additions. Some were true replicas of the
original, some added modern features while respecting the character
of the original home. We have an excellent relationship with the
Historic Preservation Office and can handle all necessary permits
for your historic
remodel.
Working out from the
city core, we have taken great pride in working with the growing
community of people who love
mid century modern homes. These post WW2 homes were built looking
forward to a brighter future. Today homeowners are taking this to
a higher level by adding artistic embellishments and bold colors
to all aspects of the home and landscaping. Many of their kitchens
and bathrooms are beautifully embellished with the latest in glass
and metal tile. These homes are first in the use of open spaces,
bringing the outside in, updating to state-of- the art fixtures
and materials.
And of course, Phoenix’s
communities of ranch homes are not to be outdone in their scope
of remodeling projects. The older ranch homes lend themselves to
a multitude of styles. They can be made to please the homeowner
who favors antiques, and the young professionals who love the state
of the art in everyday living.
All of these ages
and styles of homes are lacking in one major area. They were built
without any of today’s knowledge of how a home should operate
as a system to minimize energy use and promote a healthier indoor
environment.
As the only NARI
Certified Green Professional in Phoenix, we can help educate
you in the many eco-friendly choices that can improve your home.
We believe that eco-remodeling does not have to cost more than any
quality professional remodel. As with any consumer choices, extremes
can cost more, but well educated choices can make dollars and sense.
If you are ready to
find out more about bringing your dream for your older home to life,
we would love to help. As a design/build
remodeler we can design all projects such as kitchens,
bathrooms,
master suite additions and opening up rooms. You will want to start
with our feasibility and design study. During this phase we will
work with you to understand your dream and see your vision. We will
design multiple floor plan options and develop the budget by itemizing
necessary and optional choices for your custom project. By starting
with this preliminary design phase your dream remodel will more
fully reflect your taste and lifestyle. It will minimize confusion
during the project and avoid costly surprises. Learn more by viewing
